With the latest cold spell upon us it’s a good time to talk about how to care for your Duradek vinyl in the cold winter weather. If you have snow and ice buildup on your deck vinyl, make sure to remove the ice and snow using a shovel made of plastic only. DO NOT USE a snow shovel with a metal blade on it. This could scuff or even tear the vinyl.
You can use rock salt or kitty litter and other snow melting chemicals, but be sure to clean the surface thoroughly with soap and water before letting the sun bake any chemicals into the Duradek vinyl. Clean it off as soon as the weather is warm enough, don’t wait.
